Beds
“Beds” is a documentary photojournalism project depicting life in a nursing home in Singapore. The photographer spent three days with 49 old people in Pasir Panjang finding out who they are and how they live. One afternoon while watching them sleep, she was confronted with an overwhelming silence and sadness that made her question the meaning of her existence. She hopes this project will remind you of your family and the fragility of life.
This project was shot for Shooting Home 2008, a photography workshop. Dedicated to the photographer’s grandfather and mother, the reasons why she loves going home every day.
