“Not all those who wander are lost.”
- J. R. R. Tolkien
Before I found photography, my travel memories were pretty much limited to happy holiday snapshots. A book project that took me around Southeast Asia changed all that. I started to learn how to look beyond postcard pictures and really take time to speak with the locals to get a quick insight into the country’s culture. I believe that conscientious research and the effort to communicate is what separates a traveller from a tourist. Documentary and travel photography are great teachers in the school of life and these images are little proofs of what I’ve learnt. They make up my history and remind me I have to go out there and experience the world before my years go by.
